Mr Chandrashekar's Research & Education Interests

Mr Chandrashekar is a specialist Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon specialising in reconstructive, corrective, oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgery and provides comprehensive breast surgical care for his patients. He constantly updates himself by regular active participation in National and International workshops and conferences and offers his patients the very latest and evidence based treatments. He is passionate about his work and tirelessly endeavours to innovate and advance the science and art of oncoplastic breast surgery.

Mr Chandrashekar graduated from Mysore University in 1989 and was awarded Master’s in surgery, post-graduate qualification in Surgery by Bangalore University in 1992. He consolidated his surgical training on the higher surgical training programme of the Northern Deanery, Newcastle upon Tyne. He was appointed to the Novel National Breast-oncoplastic fellowship in 2002.

This was a “first of its kind” unique cross speciality training programme conceived by the British association of Plastic surgeons and the British association of Surgical Oncology and funded directly by the Department of Health. He has also visited several National and International centres of excellence including the Division of plastic surgery, Massachussetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Boston, USA.

He was appointed to the post of Consultant in Oncoplastic and reconstructive Breast surgery at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in 2003. He is also an honorary senior lecturer in Clinical sciences at the University of Liverpool. He has practicing privileges at the Spire Lourdes Hospital in Liverpool.

He is on the Specialist registry of the General Medical Council, and is a member of the Association of Breast Surgeons, British Association of Surgical Oncology, European society of surgical Oncology, and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, UK. I am a reconstructive, corrective, oncoplastic and aesthetic breast surgeon and provide comprehensive breast surgical care for my patients. I bring in the very latest and innovative and cutting edge technology to cosmetic breast and body surgery. I was the first surgeon in the North West to introduce the Crisalix 3D breast and body assessment for patients seeking cosmetic procedures.

I am also in the process of introducing fat banking for breast and body enhancement. The very latest B-lite ultra low weight breast implants will be offered to patients who are seeking large implants but with less weight, these implants are also ideal for patients who have developed droopiness following large breast implants in the past.
