Mr Tehrani's Research & Education Interests

Mr Tehrani has given numerous talks and lectures in the fields of Plastic surgery, skin cancer treatment, and laser surgery, and helps train Plastic surgeons in skin cancer management. He has overseen a number of research higher degrees, encouraging junior surgeons to develop their research interests and improve patient care.

Having developed an early career interest in skin cancer management, Mr Tehrani completed an MD higher degree in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. His work has been extensively published in International surgical journals, with over 50 publications to date, and has emphasis on the management of skin cancers, in particular basal cell carcinoma (BCC or 'rodent ulcer').

Mr Tehrani's experience has been recognised both nationally and internationally, and numerous requests for training come from surgeons both in the UK and overseas including USA and Italy.

Mr Tehrani's Specialist Interests

Having been trained in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Mr Tehrani then furthered his interests by undertaking specialist training in Skin cancer management and Laser surgery.

He is the founder and Lead Clinician of the Mersey Regional Centre for Mohs Surgery, and is the first Plastic surgeon in the UK (and one of very few in the world) to have a specialist interest in Mohs surgery. Mr Tehrani is also one of the core members of the Mersey & Cheshire specialist skin mutidisciplinary team, helping to advise on the management of patients with skin cancer.

Mr Tehrani's Mohs surgery and skin cancer experience has led to him being a member of both the UK advisory group on Mohs surgery standards, and the UK advisory group on skin cancer diagnosis. These groups have been developed to provide guidance and information to specialists throughout the UK and globally. He also represents the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons on the development of skin cancer care both nationally and internationally.

He has also been extensively trained to use a number of Laser systems, and regularly treats a range of conditions including unwanted hair, vascular growths, thread veins and unwanted tattoos. He is one of the founder members of the Whiston hospital Laser group in Liverpool.

Mr Tehrani's Practice Philosophy

Mr Tehrani constantly strives to improve patient care, and provides latest techniques and treatment for his patients. He will discuss options with all his patients, involving them in their care and decision making to ensure their treatment pathway is tailored to their individual needs.

Having a procedure can be a stressful and worrying time, and Mr Tehrani works hard with his team to put patients at ease and produce a relaxed but professional atmosphere whenever possible. This way, he aims to provide not only the best treatment, but also the best care possible
